Remarkable Young Voices in Transport

30 Young Changemakers in Transport

We are proud to present the 2025 edition of our series, celebrating 30 inspiring young leaders who are reshaping the future of sustainable and inclusive mobility.

Since its launch in 2019, our Remarkable Voices in Transport series has highlighted the work of 165 changemakers from 47 countires, amplifying diverse voices and transformative ideas in mobility.

This year, our spotlight turns to youth, those who make up half of the world‘s population, yet remain largely excluded from decision-making in transport policy and planning.

7th Edition

The 2025 features 30 Millenial and Gen Z leaders who are taking action in their communities and beyond. Through their work, they demonstrate the creativity, urgency and vision young people bring to today‘s transport challenges.
Many come from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, bringing intersectional perspectives that are too often missing in mainstream mobility conversations.
Their stories underscore one powerful message: a just and sustainabke transport future must be co-created with youth.
We hope this edition will sparkle dialogue and action toward greater youth inclusion in mobility planning, and inspire you to engage with the next generation of transport leaders.
Enjoy the reading!

6th Edition

The 2024 edition showcases the inspiring stories of women transport workers from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Morocco and Uganda. This feminist arts project, in collaboration with the International Transport Worker‘s Federation (ITF), highlights their lived experiences as they overcome daily challenges such as misogyny and exploitation, all while playing a crucial role in keeping the world moving and fighting for change at local, national and global levels.

This projects amplifies the voices of these frontline women, advocating for more inclusive policies and greater gender representation in the transport sector. Grounded in the labor movement and the legacy of women organising in trade unions, we shine a light on the efforts of unions in these countries as they lead the charge for a more just and equitable urban mobility system.

These powerful stories of perseverance and collective action inspire us to continue advocating for a future where urban transport is inclusive, equitable and accessible to everybody.

5th Edition

This 2023 Remarkable Women edition aims to showcase the power of diverse visions for feminist transport policy. A public call for “Feminist Voices in Transport” resulting in over 80 nominations from over 20 countries. We were excited to read about the inspirational work happening around the world and learn from each one of the nominees. Selecting the few portraits featured in this edition was the hardest part of bringing this edition to life. In addition to the diverse and personal portraits, we highlighted selected organizations and think tanks for their outstanding work towards more equitable and gender-transformative mobility.

We as Women Mobilize Women are excited to keep exploring. We often reflect upon and consciously acknowledge the limitation of our own brand that carries the word “women” – even twice. It can be seen to take a binary approach to our target group–a big step in 2018 but seemingly outdated in 2023. At the core of our mission, this is not what we stand for. Going forward, we will aim to be more inclusive and provide a platform to highlight all the work that is creating more equitable access to urban transport systems, freedom from fear and violence, and providing an intersectional perspective on sustainable mobility and gender.

Enjoy the read!
